Many of you have probably heard that the International Bluegrass Music Association, which has promoted the musical genre for the last 40 years, is moving its popular music festival to Chattanooga this year. The music festival dates will be September 19-20, with a variety of trade show expo and workshops occurring in the week leading up to the festival.
I’m pleased to share that we have been selected to organize the Arts & Crafts street/night market during the festival! Details are still be worked out, but at the moment it appears that two-to-three dozen artisan booths will be available Friday and Saturday located at various spots in the festival footprint. We will make an enrollment announcement once the security and logistics folks work out a few more details, but it’s safe to anticipate that the process will begin in the next 30 days.
The selection process will be a bit different than our normal markets, as we expect some merchants will want to follow the festival from their previous site of Raleigh, NC - and a broader array of products will be considered by the review panel. In addition, we will also be maintaining our Wednesday Erlanger, Saturday River Market and Sunday “CultureFest” Market – so it’s going to be an amazing week of opportunity.
More details to follow, and we’re pretty excited about this festival.
