Hey Guys, our annual FiveStar Food Fight is just around the corner on Sunday, June 29th. Just like last year, we’ll be featuring 5 of our own talented vendors who either cook for a living or just for fun!
Last year’s trophy went to Cornelius Lathan of The Bistro Food Truck - and he’ll be returning to defend his title. Who wants to take him down?!?!?
It’s a really fun, and full day. You’ll get a ton of media and social coverage, so it’s good for your business too! Here’s everything you need to know prior to committing. Interested? FiveStar Food Fight deets if you are chosen:
- As a competitor in this special event, you will be shopping for your ingredients right at the Market on Sunday. We’ll provide you with $50 cash and 30 minutes to shop for most everything you’ll need. We’ll have a small pantry of simple things for you to access such as salt/pepper, olive oil, butter, and milk.
- You will be making an entree. As you think through what you would like to prepare for the judges, consider something seasonally appropriate, creative and use as many Market products as you can. Make sure your entree is something you can be successful at preparing.
- Expect that you will be plating for five judges and one emcee. Portion size (SMALLISH) is important since we are providing the judges with five entrees and we don’t want to fill them up before getting to all of the competitors.
- The twist…drumroll…you will be given a secret ingredient (at the event) that you will be required to utilize in your dish! (HINT: it will be a protein)
What we will provide:
- 4 burner gas stove/electric oven by FiveStar
- Prep table
- Presentation table
- Table cloths
- Secret ingredient
- Advertising/social media exposure/PR opportunities and live recording
What you will bring:
- ALL PREP AND COOKWARE: Cutting boards, knives for preparation, pots & pans, bowls, utensils, pots/pans…everything you need to prepare your entree.
- SIX sets of service ware for judges/emcee (plates, napkins, silverware)
- Friends, family, co-workers to help cheer you on!!
