We’ve been busy behind the scenes getting ready for the season, and there have been a few staffing updates along the way. Those of you who have been involved with River and Collegedale have already met Tara Viland, our newest event manager. Tara has been a big fan of the market for a number of years, but she also has solid event work experience with several of our sister organizations here in Chattanooga (Venue Manager of the Signal; Vendor Manager for Nightfall; history with Chattanooga Film Festival, 4BAF, Fly Free Festival, etc). And overall, she’s just plain awesome - you are going to love her!
Tara is currently on the world tour of our events, and has already been involved in River and Collegedale markets. She’s also getting some experience at Finley Stadium events, and soon will see a Chattanooga Market event or two as a comanager. We like for our team to be able to handle any market situation, which helps us to remain flexible as an organization. If you see her, be sure to say hi!
Sarah Beairsto, who has been actively involved with Collegedale and River, is still with us – but her primary focus has always been towards the Stadium and that side is getting super-busy this Spring. She will definitely be seen from time-to-time around our markets again (heck, Sarah basically grew up at the Market – she’s been involved in some aspect since it’s origin!)
Katie Nelson, of whom we remain big fans, has left us after 6+ years to practice law with a local firm in Chattanooga. We’ll certainly miss her, but are happy that she is pursuing the career path she spent years preparing for.
